Whether you are an experinced runner, an every-day "trailie" or new to the scene, this series caters for all levels.
The series is back, bigger and better than ever. With short and long course options, you are bound to find a distance to your liking. And what better way to inspire your training over the hot holiday season. Hope to see you there!
For those of you joining us (or thinking of joining us) at Race 3 at O'Halloran Hill on Valentine's Day evening, we have organised a little extra as a thank you for spending your romantic sunset with us, running around (and over) the hills.
Haigh's Chocolates are putting together a little gift for each of our runners, with some dark chocolate included to cover most dietary requirements.
120 of the bags will be supplied so that's our target for this event. It's a great course (personally my favourite of all of them) and with sunset forecast at around 8.30pm it will provide a great sight of the lights of the Adelaide Plains.
Obstacle Course racer, Trail Series runner and owner of CORE REVOLUTION Robbie Wickham, is generously donating a pack of Turbo Superfoods Performance and Recovery powder worth $38.00 to the random draw after each of the final two events in the Trail Series. Each runner will also be eligible for a special introductory offer on their first purchase of Turbo Superfoods. For details or orders please email Robbie at firstname.lastname@example.org

As those of you in the Trail Series will probably know, Yumigo! has recently welcomed Roof Rack City Adelaide as a supporter of our events. They will be supplying the gear van for all of the events, plus marquees. This is a huge help for our events and means that more of the entry fees can go to other areas of the races.
Speaking of, don't forget that if you are a competitor in the SA Summer Trail Series and you need extra car storage for work or play then go and see Ian at Roof Rack City Adelaide and you will be looked after

RACE 2: MORIALTA
Good evening everyone. The provisional results for Morialta are here. However, the official results are for Long Course only. Short Course results are included, but with times recorded only, and no placings.
After communicating with some other experienced heads on what to do with the results for the runners who were mis-directed, I have decided to declare that there be no placings for the Short Course runners.
This is the only way to keep the Series fair for everyone, particularly for those who may be vying for overall/age-group honours at the end of the Series, but who were inadvertently sent the wrong way at Morialta.
As an overall proportion of runners, the number sent the wrong way was small: eight out of 101 runners. However several of these runners were in the mix for overall and age group podium placings so the ramifications were significant.
On another note, I can't re-iterate enough how important it is for entrants to learn the course map prior to race day and to not be afraid to question a marshal if you think something is amiss. I know it's hard in the heat of the moment to make yourself stop and question instructions (which you shouldn't have to do if the event is being run correctly) but this has been a lesson for a few of us. This is the nature of trail running. Even when the map is correct and the course markers are correct, what we hear tends to override over what we see.
How has this changed the Series? The Long Course continues as per normal. However the Short Course will now be a best of three, with contenders required to participate in two of three events (Anstey Hill, O'Halloran Hill and Newland Head) for overall and age group honours.
Every runner in Yumigo! events is important, and it's disappointing that such a fantastic venue has dished up a no-result. Those of you who have run in Yumigo! events previously know that we pride ourselves on putting on a great experience (as trail running should be!). So if Morialta was your first event I encourage you to come out to O'Halloran Hill on Feb 14 to see what our events are REALLY like!
Thanks everyone. As always my line is open for feedback, good or bad!
